Who We Are
Founded in 2021, Sacramento Collaborative is a mission-driven initiative dedicated to advancing collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovative problem solving across disciplines and sectors. The organization seeks to promote human-centered approaches to some of the most significant challenges facing contemporary society, including education, sustainability, community development, technological transformation, and economic opportunity.
Based in Sacramento, California, Sacramento Collaborative operates under the management of Sacramento Collaborative LLC, a not-for-profit consulting organization committed to fostering collaboration among individuals, institutions, and communities.
The initiative was established on the belief that many of today's complex challenges cannot be effectively addressed through isolated efforts. Meaningful and sustainable solutions often emerge when diverse perspectives, expertise, and resources are brought together through constructive collaboration.
Through its focus on Higher Education, the Built Environment, and the Digital Economy, Sacramento Collaborative seeks to contribute to knowledge-driven solutions that create lasting benefits for current and future generations.

To advance collaboration across higher education, the built environment, and the digital economy in order to support knowledge-driven solutions that contribute to a more equitable, sustainable, and prosperous future.
Listen. Investigate. Imagine. Build.
Sacramento Collaborative approaches collaboration not as a label, but as a way of working. We begin by listening to people and observing how existing systems affect everyday life. We investigate the questions those experiences raise, explore alternative models, demonstrate promising concepts, and mobilize relationships and resources toward real-world experimentation.
Our work also moves between the local and global. Built Environment and Digital Economy initiatives can begin with locally grounded problems and experiments, while Higher Education can increasingly provide a global collaborative network through which universities and communities exchange knowledge. Successes can travel. Failures can become lessons. Ideas developed in one place can be examined and adapted elsewhere—and what is learned can return to strengthen local understanding.
Local → Global → Local. Local experience informs global exchange; global exchange enriches local understanding. The aim is not to impose universal solutions, but to create better ways for communities and institutions to learn from one another.
Collaboration must also begin within the organization itself. As Sacramento Collaborative grows, we intend for participation, recognition, accountability, and economic opportunity to reflect the same collaborative values we advocate through our projects. Difference does not have to become distance.
